adapting the mechanical theatre for your venue

Engineered Arts' Mechanical Theatre concept has been developed to be modular and expandable. Objects and figures moving in front of the projection screen are carried on overhead tracks, these can be curved or straight. Each track can carry two independently moving objects.

Our first large theatre design utilises 5 curved tracks with 8 animated objects. The tracks are 15m long.

The wide screen projection is achieved with synchronised projectors - it is possible to use hundreds of projectors at once although generating images for such a large screen is expensive.

As a guide one projector will cover about 2.5m screen width, so a 10m wide screen requires 4 projectors.

For a smaller venue a single video projector can be motorised so that it is able to project in multiple locations within the theatre space, and a complex lighting system with motorised lights will help create an engaging presentation.
